The Drowning Girls by Paula Treick DeBoard

The Drowning GirlsThe Drowning Girls by Paula Treick DeBoard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of those books that's a great thrill to read and you know in the back of your mind that this could really happen but you are glad that you don't live in that world. Or do you?

You could. And that's the scary vision that the author paints. In the vein of Gone Girl and other thrillers like it, it's a story told from the point-of-view of the husband and wife. But what is really going on? Who's telling the truth and when will the truth come out. Crazy scary and crazy good all at the same time.

I loved the pacing, the plot and the characters. Liz and Phil are a great couple and you can see how something can so easily spiral out-of-control whether it's in your head or really happening. And Kelsey. Kelsey is such a believable character. Everything works together to make this a page-turner. I honestly had a hard time putting it down and one night it was 2am before I put it down and I like my sleep.

So run, don't walk and grab a copy of of this from somewhere. While not for the squeamish (not violent, just the themes), it's a well-written page-turner.

***I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any other way except receiving the book for free.  ***
